The Wizard of Oz Harrods Christmas Parade

A record number of people turned out at the crack of dawn to see the spectacularly themed Wizard of Oz Christmas Parade at Harrods on Saturday.

The highlight of the show was Father Christmas himself, who arrived in a Harrods liveried horse-drawn landau and was greeted by Mohamed Al Fayed. Special guests included children from Great Ormond Street Hospital, who rode through the parade in a gleaming chauffeur driven Rolls Royce, acrobats, street performers and colourful characters from the the Wizard of Oz.

Father Christmas made his way through the store to the Christmas Grotto where he will reside right up until Christmas Eve. Around 70,000 children are expected to reveal their Christmas wish-list to him when they visit him in the grotto this year.
