£150,000 for Great Ormond Street Hospital
Mohamed was delighted to present Great Ormond Street Hospital with a cheque for £150,000 after Harrods staff and customers raised money during his Wizard of Oz fundraising campaign at Harrods over the Christmas period.
Three-year old kidney transplant patient Olivia James and Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity Chairman of Fundraising, Charles Denton, (pictured) came to Harrods to receive the cheque yesterday. The money will be used to help the hospital build a new bedroom at the hospital so that parents are able to stay overnight whilst their children are being treated.
For 30 years now, Mohamed has been delighted to help Great Ormond Street. His gift of a £7 million MRI scanner remains the hospital's largest donation by an individual. But in many other ways, great and small, he had been pleased to play a part in making life a little easier for the young patients and their families who receive compassionate help and world class treatment at the world's most famous children's hospital.
He was made a Friend of Adeona, one of the hospital's highest honours, for his continued and valued support in 2007.
